What is Dynacar?Nowadays car development time from concept approval to Job 1 is between 2 and 5 years (with an average of 3 years), but in the coming years is necessary to reduce it in order to achieve the optimal 12-month car. On the other hand the penetration rate of alternative powertrains (electric, hybrid) is growing quickly, increasing the complexity of the vehicle and therefore development time cycle.
On the other hand electrification of road transport is a significant engineering challenge due to the implementation of new powertrains in which innovative design and validation approaches are needed.
In this content during the last 5 years, Tecnalia (the fifth research organization in Europe) has been working in new concept for the mobility of the future and on enhanced configuration and virtual evaluation tools that enable the development and integration of new solutions.
This development methodology called Dynacar combine different tools to bring design concepts into solutions:
Dynacar is being used in the Automotive Unit of Tecnalia in its main research areas around transport system.
Electric Propulsión SytemsSynchronous electric drive with high power density permanent magnets (100kW)
Electronic Control SystemsControl of traction, stability and regenerative braking implemented in the vehicle.
Energy storageCutting-edge Li Fe PO4 lithium-iron, with high energy storage capacity.
